Gosford RSL Club

A fresh, tropical plantscape that enhances and transforms the club experience.

A bold live plant transformation for Gosford RSL Club, featuring a show-stopping curved Green Wall and lush tropical interior planting. Designed and delivered in close collaboration with the club, the result is a vibrant, welcoming venue with a true “wow factor” from the moment you arrive.

Gosford RSL Club reimagined with live greenery, combining a statement curved Green Wall with lush tropical planting to create a vibrant, inviting hospitality experience.

The Brief

Our client’s problem that needed solving.

Gosford RSL Club wanted a bold, living plantscape that would immediately lift the feel of their interiors and create a genuine “wow factor” for members and visitors. A key non-negotiable in their brief was that all greenery had to be live plants, no artificial alternatives.

With no external designers involved, the club led the vision internally, and our Vertical / Technical Manager worked closely with their Marketing Manager to shape a cohesive, contemporary indoor plantscape that felt vibrant, welcoming, and suited to the pace of a busy regional venue.

Design and Installation

Our client’s problem that needed solving.

We delivered a lush, tropical-style indoor plantscape across the venue, anchored by a standout Green Wall installation and supported by complementary internal planting throughout key areas. Plant selections such as Ficus lyrata, Happy Plants, Strelitzia, Sansevieria, and Kentia Palms were chosen for their indoor resilience and their ability to create a rich, uplifting atmosphere. Each plant played a role in transforming the space into an inviting and refreshing environment.

The Green Wall system was selected for its smart design and maintenance efficiency, allowing individual plants to be replaced easily so the wall stays full and vibrant long-term, with minimal disruption to the venue.

Our Solution.

Above and Beyond.

This project required close collaboration and careful staging across two overlapping installation programs (Green Wall and indoor plants). Our team aligned timelines tightly to ensure the venue experienced minimal interruption while achieving a seamless final result.

We also supported the client throughout the process with clear communication, meticulous planning, onsite coordination, ensuring every stage of delivery met the brief and exceeded expectations, from early consultation through to final walkthrough.

Thinking outside the box.

One of the most distinctive elements of the project was installing a Green Wall on a curved surface, with a neon sign placed right in the center. Curved walls introduce layout and planting challenges, but our Next Gen modular system allowed precise placement and a clean finish while still delivering density and impact.

Plants are pre-potted and ready to go, then placed into the framework without any digging or mess. Maintenance is a breeze, as the top-down watering system allows for easy care, and any plant that needs attention can be quickly swapped out without disruption. The outcome is a highly photogenic, immersive green feature that has quickly become a signature moment inside the club, being used as a selfie backdrop for guests.

Customisation.

A range of custom planters (in varied shapes and sizes) were used across the club site. Retrofitting our sub-irrigation kits into these bespoke planters required detailed planning and skilled adjustment well before installation day, ensuring perfect fit, performance, and long-term plant health.
Planter selections were made collaboratively between the client and our consultant, with a focus on the Mojo range for its unique colours, textures, and natural appeal — including a striking floor-standing rattan-style feature.

The Green Wall has been fully customised using the Next Gen Living Wall system to suit the club’s curved feature wall. The framework was carefully shaped to follow the curve, with “The Gardens” neon light seamlessly integrated into the centre as a key focal point. An additional lighting strip was installed to supplement natural daylight cycles and highlight the plants, ensuring the wall looks vibrant, healthy and inviting at all times of day or night.

Maintenance.

A monthly maintenance schedule is in place. Each service includes watering, dusting, cleaning, pruning, and replacement plants when required, with ongoing inspections to keep the planting healthy and looking sharp year-round.

The sub-irrigation supports this maintenance schedule for all planters and helps reduce the need for frequent watering, which keeps the plants thriving with minimal intervention. The Next Gen Living Wall system is set up with an automatic irrigation system, set with a timer for watering intervals to ensure the Green Wall stays healthy and vibrant.

Keeping everyone safe.

Working in a high-traffic venue meant safety and risk management were essential. Our team planned the install carefully in advance, coordinated access, and maintained safe work zones to protect staff, members, and contractors throughout the delivery period.

Client Outcomes

How our client benefited from our installation.

The transformation at Gosford RSL Club has had an immediate and lasting impact across the venue. The new plantscape brings warmth, life, and a strong sense of arrival, creating a contemporary, vibrant and welcoming atmosphere where people genuinely enjoy spending time, whether they’re staff on shift or visitors arriving for the day or evening.

The Green Wall has become an instant focal point, delivering a strong visual statement from the moment guests enter. Its scale, texture and colour create a clear “wow factor” that elevates the Club’s overall aesthetic, with visitors actively engaging with it as a popular spot for photos and selfies.

Feedback from the Gosford RSL team during the final walkthrough confirmed that the greenery is already making a positive difference to staff and visitors alike. Uplifting mood, increasing enjoyment of the space and adding a sense of pride in the venue. The live planting reinforces the Club’s desire to offer coastal style and high quality experience, more commonly associated with leading city venues.

Beyond the aesthetics, the modular Green Wall system and sub-irrigated planters provide genuine long-term value. Plants can be refreshed easily, making maintenance efficient and cost-effective while keeping the plantscape consistently lush and premium. This combination of impact and practicality helps position Gosford RSL as a leading venue in the region and sets a new benchmark for live greenery in regional hospitality spaces.
