Tallest Green Wall Stockland Piccadilly

Reaching New Heights: Our Tallest Green Wall Installation

At Green Design, we’ve always been at the forefront of innovation in vertical greenery. As one of the first companies in Australia to build green walls, we’ve spent years refining our expertise, ensuring that every installation is not only visually striking but also sustainable, functional, and built to last.

Our latest project at Stockland Piccadilly is a testament to that experience, standing as our tallest green wall to date at six metres high and five metres wide.

Pioneering Green Wall Design in Australia

Since our early days, Green Design has been leading the way in indoor and outdoor vertical gardens. Our team has worked with architects, designers, and builders to integrate greenery into built environments in a way that enhances air quality, energy efficiency, and overall well-being.

While the demand for large-scale green infrastructure has surged, we’ve taken a strategic approach to growth, ensuring that we build our capabilities sustainably. Expanding too quickly can compromise quality and service, but by developing our expertise steadily, we’ve been able to support long-term stability…for our business, our clients, and our employees.

A Transformative Project – Our Tallest Green Wall

Stockland, a leader in sustainable property development, understands the value of integrating nature into the built environment. Their latest initiative at Stockland Piccadilly brings a new level of greenery to their building, making it more inviting for occupants while contributing to a healthier, more sustainable cityscape.

This installation was designed by Green Design’s own Craig Atkins, Head of Vertical and supported by Lead Vertical Installer, Jarrod Ursem, and brought to life in collaboration with Peloton, the construction company managing the overall build. With careful planning, we executed the installation over three consecutive overnight shifts to minimise disruption to building occupants.

The NextGen System Advantage

This installation features the innovative NextGen System, reaching new heights and designed for durability, easy maintenance, and long-term plant health. Engineered to withstand urban conditions, this system ensures that greenery thrives with minimal upkeep—providing a practical and visually striking solution for city landscapes.

Safety & Seamless Execution

With every new milestone, safety remains a top priority. Stephen Milne ensured full WHS compliance, overseeing:

  • Training for working at heights
  • Scissor lift and boom lift licences for installers and maintenance crews
  • Close coordination with Peloton to ensure smooth execution

Thanks to pre-site meetings with Peloton, we avoided obstacles and delivered the project efficiently and safely.

Why Green Walls Matter

Our clients don’t just want green walls for their aesthetics—they understand the genuine benefits of biophilic design. Green walls:

  • Improve air quality
  • Reduce urban heat
  • Boost occupant well-being and productivity

Stockland’s commitment to creating vibrant, nature-connected spaces is a perfect example of how businesses can future-proof their workplaces and commercial properties.

A Trusted Name in Indoor & Outdoor Greenery

As proud members of the Interior Plantscape Association of Australia and New Zealand, and holding accreditation, Green Design is committed to industry best practices, ongoing innovation, and long-term client satisfaction.

We’ve spent years developing our skills, refining our systems, and building a stable, sustainable business. With each new milestone—like this record-breaking green wall—we continue growing responsibly, ensuring the best outcomes for our clients, our employees, and the cities we help to green.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and we’re excited to see how much further we can grow—one green wall at a time.
